Hi all,

just a little update to pre-warn you that we have another week of special recs coming up soon. We are nearly at 100 watchers and wanted to do something to celebrate that, so have been planning, reading and watching like mad. We hope you will enjoy some of the little gems we have found.

In the meantime, if you find something out there that you love and want to share, please post it in our suggestion thread here. Even if we don't end up reccing it, others can see what you have enjoyed and might be exposed to new writers, artists and vidders in the fandom that they were previously not aware of. Not everyone posts to the main communities and it is amazing where you find new talent.

Title: The Game
Author: lucy_locket
Length:  Oneshot
Pairing(s)/Character(s): Ianto/Gwen with implied Jack/Gwen, Jack/Ianto and Jack/Ianto/Gwen.
Warnings: Sex, and lots of it
Spoilers: N/A
Summary: Ianto, Gwen and Jack were just the pawns; the Master had the real control.

Reason to read it:
Oh dear lord, where to begin. Okay, I will admit I have a soft spot for Ianto/Gwen, and lucy_locket has presented a fic that not only gives us an incredibly hot dose of Ianto/Gwen, but also a strong darker element that leaves you both fascinated and with a cold shudder up your spine to counter the heat. It's definitely a brilliant fic, and will leave you wanting to re-read it again and again.

Title: Ten Months
Author: echoingvista
Rating:   pg-13
Length:   Oneshot
Pairing(s)/Character(s): Ianto, Gwen, implied Jack/Ianto, mentions of Rhys, Tosh and Owen
Warnings: Just a few rude words
Spoilers: Up to the end of season one
Summary: During the Year That Never Was, Gwen and Ianto reflect on their lives in Torchwood, and especially Jack.

Reason to read it:
This appeared on my flist today and it was such a lovely Ianto/Gwen moment that I had to badger my fellows on here about reading it. It explores the year that never was and Gwen and Ianto reflecting on their pasts. Gwen is the one to start and she manages to get Ianto to talk, which is never an easy thing to do. It builds upon the hints that we see onscreen on the friendship between Ianto and Gwen and the characterisations and dialogue resonate with me as being 'true'. Gwen is particulary well drawn here and it is great to see an author deal with Gwen in a true and loving manner in a fic that also includes mention of Jack/Ianto.

Plus, the author has promised a 'deleted scene' from this universe and I know some people who would look forward to seeing how they make that work. :)

Title: Janto vs. Gwack: The Meta-Showdown
Author: Dee
Rating:   pg
Warnings: N/A
Spoilers: Some Season Three references/speculation in comments
Summary: Dee discusses her thoughts on the Janto and Gwack relationships and the fandom's responses to both.

Reason to read it:
I'm sure everyone out there has written something on a forum or blog about Janto and Gwack (heck, I have), but very rarely do you see someone look at the fandom's responses to the relationships in a meta. Dee's meta is an extremely interesting read, and definitely a worthwhile one.

Artist: basalt
Rating: pg
Pairing(s)/Character(s): Jack/Ianto
Warnings: None
Spoilers: prior to season two airing
Summary: Jack requests coffee, gets something he didn't quite expect.

Reason to see it:
basalt created this comic after hearing about certain teasers for season two. It is beautifully drawn and the expressions on Jack are a particular delight. A nice, fun piece of art.

Title: Torchwood Nesting Dolls
Artist: jigglykat
Rating: g
Pairing(s)/Character(s): The team
Warnings: None
Spoilers: None
Summary: Russian dolls, Torchwood style

Reason to see it:
These are just too gorgeous to pass up. jigglykat thinks she might have gone to a new level of fandom hell, apparently, because of creating this little bit of fan art. I love them and want a set of my own but I don't have the talent of the artist that created these cuties. It amazes me what imaginations there are out there. Please keep creating.

Title: Cells
Vidder: OfNightside aka vaeltaa
Rating:   pg
Pairing(s)/Character(s): Owen
Warnings: N/A
Summary: Character study of Dr. Owen Harper, set to "Cells" by The Servant.  It's about his flaws, and his messed up psyche. His intelligence as a doctor and his place on the team. His screwed-up and somewhat tragic experiences with love. His many shields of sarcasm, cruelty and violence used as a means to shut people out. His abuse of sex and alcohol to dull his emotions. His humor, his passion for his work and his surprisingly romantic soul. His life, and his death. But most of all; his humanity.

Reason to watch it:
This vid uses well chosen effects, along with excellent timing and clip choice. The song used is  one that fits Owen well, and vaeltaa has put a lot of thought as to exactly what moments are suited to the lyrics of the song making this a strong video. It is beautifully edited, and a lovely video all round.

Title: Grocery Shopping
Author: joonscribble
Rating: pg
Length: Oneshot
Pairing(s)/Character(s): Ianto, Owen
Warnings: None
Spoilers: post "A Day in the Death"
Summary: Owen and Ianto find food for Myfanwy.

Reason to read it:
This is a lovely little piece showing the work interactions between Owen and Ianto. joonscribble has taken an intriguing email from the BBC website and fleshed it out to create a believable and lovely moment between the two men on the team who never really seemed to bond on screen except for some small moments where you knew there was more going on between them than the trading of insults.

Title: Day One
Author: milly
Rating:   pg
Length:   Oneshot
Pairing(s)/Character(s): Gwen Cooper, Toshiko Sato
Warnings: Set post "Exit Wounds", so dark
Spoilers: Exit Wounds
Summary: One week after the events of 'Exit Wounds', Gwen finds herself alone in the Hub, haunted by her memories and the other things left behind.

Reason to read it:
A very short but sweet, touching story where Gwen is still coming to terms with the loss of her friends, this story is well worth the read. millylicious has captured Gwen's pain well, and you can really feel like you are in Gwen's shoes as she comes to realise something about Tosh. This story is heartbreaking, but beautiful.

Title: Moving In
Autho: [info]ukcalico
Rating:   nc-17
Length:  Oneshot
Pairing(s)/Character(s): Jack/Ianto
Warnings: smut
Summary: Ianto's first day at work. AKA, Oblivious Jack is oblivious!

Reason to read it:
A brilliantly written piece looking at Ianto's first day at the Hub. Or rather, the first night after everyone but Jack has gone home and Ianto is in the process of moving Lisa in. The emotions of both characters is portrayed well, and you really feel as if you are in the moment with them. Definitely a must read.
